How Michael Mandel Created a Crowd-Sourced Real Estate Info Site for Brokers

This post originally appeared on Growth Everywhere, a marketing and business growth blog.

In today’s episode, I share the mic with Michael Mandel, the CEO of CompStak, a crowd-sourced real estate information site for real estate brokers to trade comps online.

Michael went to Babson to studied entrepreneurship, and after he graduated he worked in commercial music production (the company that created the Yahoo yodel). Then he got into commercial real estate brokerage in NYC and leveraged that experience to create a real estate tech company.

Brokers would trade comps with each other and Michael would frantically call other brokers on Sunday night looking for comps to share during his Monday morning meeting. The idea for CompStak came from this need for information — and more specific information at that.

Tune in to hear why Michael explain why they tweak their pricing model often, what they do to double their revenue each year, and the tactics that got them their first hundred customers.
